FAQ
do you accept returns or exchanges?
Each piece is made by hand and each piece is completely unique, so unfortunately I do not take returns or exchanges. Please double check your cart that the piece you are purchasing is the piece for you. If you have a more specific question regarding this please contact me.
my piece was damaged during shipping, what now?
Thankfully this isn’t actually a frequently asked question. I do my very best to package and ship each piece with care, however, we all know that shipping couriers can be quite careless with packages. Please send photos of damage to beansofjohn@gmail.com, and I am happy to come to a resolution with you.
do you ship internationally?
Currently, outside of the US, I am only shipping to Canada & UK. There is a flat rate of $43 USD for international shipping —this includes the handling fee. If you are just ordering a print and the shipping totals much less, I will be in touch about shipping reimbursement. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with further questions. Items are shipped via United States Postal Service and you will receive a customs code and US tracking. Once an item has left the US there is no tracking so please be mindful that you have a package on the way. Buyers are responsible for any customs or import taxes that may apply. I am not responsible for delays due to customs. Some packages may need to be retrieved from your local post office because of taxes due. Buyer is responsible for communicating with local post office about retrieval of package. The reason I do not ship internationally is the difficulty of tracking packages once it has left the US. If this is not of a concern to you and you would like to discuss further about possibly attempting to ship outside the US, Canada or the UK please feel free to contact me.
do you take on commissions or custom orders?
I love working with people to create artwork just for them, however, please be mindful that I work with found objects and materials that I have that inspire me. Each piece I make is completely unique and no two pieces are ever the same. If you are looking for me to replicate something I have made in the past, I can always do my best, but I may not always have the same materials on hand and each piece takes on its own life. Please contact me if you’d like to work with me to make something specific. A portion of the price will be due upfront. Commissions and special projects can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to complete, so please reach out with plenty of notice. UPDATE: I am currently not taking on any commissions or customs, but the the above clause applies once I have resumed again—I will take custom inquiries again starting January 2024.
what shipping courier do you use?
USPS Priority Mail is used for all domestic orders and USPS Priority Mail International for Canadian/UK orders. Shipping cost is calculated by weight and size for domestic orders plus a small handling fee. I am not responsible for package delays due to USPS delays.
when will I receive my item?
Items usually ship out within 3-7 business from when they are ordered. If you need to expedite anything, please contact me. After they are shipped, shipping time varies. For US purchases, you will receive a USPS tracking number; it usually takes between 2-10 business days. Please track your packages closely, as I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages. USPS will provide you with an estimated delivery day. International items can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to arrive from the ship day. *COVID-19 has caused significant delays in shipping, please be mindful of this when purchasing*
can I be notified when new pieces are available?
Yes! You can input your email on the new works alert via my contact page. I only send out emails regarding when new work will be made available.
is your work available anywhere else?
Yes! Please find a collection of my work at Gold Bug Pasadena. Many of my larger pieces are sold through Gold Bug. Please contact them with any questions regarding what pieces may be available.
